Vigência e denúncia
1 - Este Acordo permanece em vigor por tempo indeterminado.
2 - Cada uma das Partes poderá, a qualquer momento, denunciar o presente Acordo.
3 - A denúncia deve ser notificada à outra Parte, por escrito e por via diplomática, e produz efeitos 90 dias após a data da recepção da respectiva notificação.
Feito em Pequim, aos 23 de Maio de 2005, em três exemplares originais nas línguas portuguesa, chinesa e inglesa, sendo todos os textos igualmente autênticos. Em caso de divergências de interpretação prevalecerá o texto em língua inglesa.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PORTUGUESE REPUBLIC AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CONSULATE-GENERAL OF THE PORTUGUESE REPUBLIC IN SHANGHAI.
The Government of the Portuguese Republic and the Government of the People's Republic of China, hereinafter referred to as Parties, desiring to promote the friendly relations between both countries, agree as follows:
Article 1
Scope
Both Parties agree on the establishment and the exercise of functions of a Consulate-General of the Portuguese Republic in Shanghai.
Article 2
Area of jurisdiction
The Consulate-General of Portugal in Shanghai comprises, as its area of jurisdiction, the municipality of Shanghai and the provinces of Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangxi.
Article 3
Reciprocity
The Chinese Party reserves the right of establishing a Consulate-General in the territory of the Portuguese Republic, whose location and area of jurisdiction shall be object of negotiations through diplomatic channels.
Article 4
Granting of assistance and other facilities
Both Parties grant, in a mutual basis, all the assistance and facilitate the establishment of both Consulates-General, in compliance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963 and the applicable rules of internal law.
Article 5
Disputes settlement
The disputes between the two Parties on consular matters shall be settled through diplomatic channels, on the basis of the principle of reciprocity in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, the applicable rules of international law and international practice.
Article 6
Entry into force
The hereof Agreement shall enter into force on the 30th day after the date of reception of the second notification, in writing and through diplomatic channels, indicating that the requirements of internal regulations of both Parties have been fulfilled.
Article 7
Amendments
The hereof Agreement may be amended upon request of either Party.
The amendments shall enter into force in the terms set forth in article 6, after mutual agreement and written notice to the other Party.
Article 8
Duration and termination
1 - The hereof Agreement shall remain in force for indefinite period.
2 - Each one of the Parties may, at any time, terminate the hereof Agreement.
3 - The termination shall be notified to the other Party in writing and through diplomatic channels and shall enter into force 90 days after the date of reception of the respective notification.
Done in Beijing, on the 23 of May of 2005, in duplicate in Portuguese, Chinese and English languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of divergence of interpretation, the English text shall prevail.
