Registo
Após a entrada em vigor do presente Acordo, a Parte em cujo território este Acordo for assinado deverá submetê-lo junto do Secretariado das Nações Unidas para registo, nos termos do artigo 102.º da Carta das Nações Unidas, e deve notificar a outra Parte da conclusão deste procedimento, bem como do número de registo atribuído.
Feito em Lisboa no dia 18 de dezembro no ano de 2017, em dois originais nas línguas portuguesa, ucraniana e inglesa, sendo todos os textos igualmente autênticos. Em caso de divergência de interpretação do presente Acordo, prevalecerá a versão inglesa.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE PORTUGUESE REPUBLIC AND UKRAINE ON ECONOMIC COOPERATION
The Portuguese Republic and Ukraine hereinafter referred to as "Parties",
Desirous of enhancing economic and technical cooperation on the principals of equality and mutual benefit;
Wishing to create more favorable conditions for development and intensification of relations between the two states;
Taking into account the Agreement on Friendship and Co-operation between the Portuguese Republic and Ukraine, signed in Lisbon, on the 25th October 2000;
Considering the Association Agreement between Ukraine, of the one part, and the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and its Member States, of the other part, done at Brussels on the 21st March 2014 and the 27th June 2017:
have agreed as follows:
Article 1
Object
The Parties shall endeavor to develop and strengthen economic co-operation on a mutually beneficial basis aiming at intensifying and expanding their bilateral economic relations.
Article 2
Areas of Co-operation
The co-operation between the Parties shall include, but not be limited to the following areas where it's considered to exist favorable opportunities for long-term cooperation:
a) Chemical Industry;
b) Infrastructure;
c) Transport;
d) Environment;
e) Tourism;
f) Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy;
g) Machinery;
h) Standardization and Metrology;
i) Conformity Assessment.
Article 3
Co-operation Mechanisms
Without prejudice to other measures for the implementation of bilateral co-operation and with a view to reinforce the bilateral economic relationship, the Parties shall:
a) Promote and develop co-operation between the two States and mainly between their economic agents and relevant competent authorities in accordance with legislation of each Party;
b) Provide information to economic agents about the economic situation of the two States, regulations and economic programs, concrete opportunities of co-operation and development of bilateral economic relations, and other economic information of mutual interest;
c) Encourage relevant competent authorities in accordance with legislation of each Party and private sector to explore the possibilities of executing projects in areas of various economic co-operation.
Article 4
Intellectual Property
Both Parties shall ensure and reinforce the protection of industrial and intellectual property rights, within their domestic law and international obligations.
Article 5
Joint Commission on Economic Co-operation
The Joint Commission on economic co-operation established according to Article 8 of the Agreement on Friendship and Co-operation between the Portuguese Republic and Ukraine, signed in Lisbon, on the 25th October 2000, shall monitor the implementation of the present Agreement and be responsible for the coordination of economic co-operation and the identification of areas of co-operation of mutual interest.
Article 6
Relation with other international conventions
The provisions of this Agreement shall not affect the rights and obligations derived from international treaties to which the Parties are parties.
Article 7
Settlement of disputes
Any dispute concerning the interpretation or application of the present Agreement shall be settled through negotiation, through the diplomatic channels.
Article 8
Amendments
1 - The present Agreement may be amended by mutual consent at the request of one of the Parties.
2 - The amendments to this Agreement shall be adopted in separate protocols and shall come into force according to Article 9 of the present Agreement.
Article 9
Duration and termination
1 - This Agreement shall be valid for five years and shall enter into force thirty days after the receiving in writing through diplomatic channels of the last notification on the fulfilment by both Parties of the internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of this Agreement.
2 - This Agreement shall be automatically extended for five-year periods unless either of the Parties notifies the other Party in writing through diplomatic channels of its intention to terminate the Agreement at least six months prior to the end of the five-year period.
Article 10
Registration
Upon entry into force of the present Agreement, the Party in whose territory it is signed shall transmit it to the Secretariat of the United Nations for registration, in accordance with Article 102 of the Charter of the United Nations, and shall notify the other Party of the completion of this procedure as well as of its registration number.
Done in Lisbon, on 18th of December 2017, in two originals in the Portuguese, Ukrainian and English languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of divergence of interpretation of this Agreement, the English version shall prevail.
